Good try and sweet result, but the face expression has nothing to do with the original painting and the atmosphere it conveys. The time I will discover a modern painter or sculptor who can grasp these expressions, I will bow with respect. Meanwhile I am not sure if these "copies" pay homage or "desecrate" the originals.
I like this, regardless of the original version. Lovely to look at:-)
Hmm...I thought it was a pretty uncanny likeness! But I love that art is all a matter of opinion :D
Pegasus, I think you should consider that the original painting was probably several feet wide, while the sculpture is would be 7 inches tall if standing. So the entire face on the painting is probably larger than the entire sculpture. It would be much harder to do at that tiny size.
